This week, we are excited to introduce Harrison Cable (@bestfootforwardshoes01 on IG and @BestFootForwardShoes on YouTube), a passionate sneaker enthusiast, creator, and one of the voices helping bring the sneaker community together through his content and Best Foot Forward Shoes Podcast.

Based in Australia, Harrison has built Best Foot Forward into a platform dedicated to all things sneakers, from New Balance, ASICS, Jordans, and adidas to upcoming releases, underrated gems, personal pickups, and everything happening across the sneaker industry. His weekly podcast goes beyond simply talking about shoes, it creates a space for real conversations with collectors, creators, photographers, and fellow sneaker enthusiasts from around the world.

What makes Harrison stand out is not only his deep knowledge of sneakers, but his genuine passion for the people, stories, and culture behind them. Through his content and podcast, he brings curiosity and enthusiasm to everything from the Australian sneaker scene and new releases to personal pickups, sneaker history, and conversations with fellow creators and collectors. With more than 80 episodes and counting, Best Foot Forward has become a place where sneaker culture is discussed, celebrated, and shared, while Harrison’s authentic approach makes every conversation feel like you’re right there with him and part of the community.

Because sneakers are about so much more than the shoes themselves, they’re about the stories, the people, the conversations, and the connections we make along the way.

1) How did you get into sneakers? I was always a big wearer of Converse and Vans, back in my teenage years, purely wearing for comfort and style, but as I grew up I found the game of basketball and started to wear performance model (Lebron's, Kobe's, when I would play), that then lead to wearing retro Jordans and discovering more brands like New Balance and Asics as I started to expand my horizons in footwear.

2) Favorite sneaker of all time? For me the pair I will never be happy until I own it, is the Joefreshgoods x New Balance 992 "Anatomy of the Heart" That pair, for me is a grail. A moment in time and history, I know it's only 6 years old, but for me, it has a special place and a revered status.

3) What are your favorite go-to pairs? Shoes by your door ready to wear? I always have a rotation ready to go for different occasions. I'm always rocking a good pair of Made In USA new balance, mainly the 992. Lately I have had the Brooks GTS Adrenaline 10 for any long walks I go on, and of course the Bred Air Jordan 1 Low for anything classy I have to go to. Don't hate me but I am not a slides guy, you will never see my toes!! 

4) What are some of your other passions / hobbies outside of sneakers? My other big passion in life is sports, mainly the NFL, Baseball, Cricket, basketball and the Australian version of football. I've been into sports forever, and it's a huge part of me. My teams are the Ravens, Orioles, Heat and the Lions (in the AFL). I am also a musician, playing multiple instruments like drums, guitar and piano at my local church most Sundays.

5) What’s one random interesting fact about you? I love filipino food, being a white guy, you wouldn't think so, but I love it all.

6) Which artist or athlete do you think had the biggest impact on sneaker culture? Phil Knight, the Shoe Dog. Without him and his vision we wouldn't have half of the culture we have today. But also shoutout to Kevin Ma, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Chuck Taylor and Eddie Cruz.

7) What pair in your collection always gets the most compliments? There are 2 different sides to this question, IN PERSON, the most head turning pair is probably the Adidas Jellyfish, people always ask about that sneaker. But ONLINE, it has to be the Sean Wotherspoon 1/97. An absolute banger and probably my best sneaker purchase ever.

8) Anything else you would love to add? Just wanted to shoutout KSP and their team for giving me this opportunity to chat about sneakers, and also creating a community within the IG platform. Online spaces can be so toxic so it's awesome to be apart of a community that is genuine. Sneakers are really only fun if you share your passion with other people, thanks to everyone who has supported, shared, liked, commented, anything.
