'Friends in the Flow' Brand Spotlight – Technq Design

We’re honored to officially welcome Technq Design and its Creative Director Joshua Guerra to our 'Friends in the Flow' series. This highlight holds special meaning - not only was Technq Design our very first brand partnership, but Joshua was also of the very first people to believe in what we were creating when we met at Sneakercon LA two years ago. His support and vision have stayed with us ever since. Today, every custom Technq Design shoe includes a pair of Technq Design Fresh Flow Shoe Trees. How did you get into making luxury shoes, goods & apparel: I got into making leather goods and luxury shoes by reverse engineering pieces I admire. I deconstructed handbags and sneakers to understand how to construct them myself.

Tell us more about Technq Design: Technq Design is a Luxury Streetwear brand that produces limited edition works of art.

Describe your creative process: I’m constantly in a creative process. My mind is always working and pulling inspiration. There is a constant overlap of ideas from one project to the next. Typically, I enjoy having lunch with clients. This helps me to get to know them and develop creative ideas. I go into sketches, and then I create several comps, which are cut down to a final design that gets produced.

What are you working on in 2025-2026: I’ll continue to develop my “Detail” cases, which are miniature trunk bags. The Detail cases are designed in various sizes, like the Detail 21 for day-to-day or the Detail 48, which can secure two pairs of your Grail sneakers.

I’m also still building on the Collectible currency Sneaker collection. A series inspired by collectible currency, such as unique hundred-dollar bills. You can expect to see exotic materials and meticulous attention to detail.

Favorite shoe/sneaker of all time: Dior Jordan 1 High and the Dior Jordan 1 Low

What shoe best embodies you and your style: The custom Jordan 4 “Specimen”. It’s a classy design made from olive green nubuck, some exotic touches, and subtle gold detailing.

Other passions/hobbies outside of shoes/sneakers/fashion: I enjoy painting and photography. You can expect to see me pick up the paintbrush again soon.
